The social network is a tool that is bringing humanity closer. As a member of a social network, you have the ability to contact and interact with people from all over the world. Geography can be very limiting, in relation to interacting with people in other places, but the Internet is allowing great interaction and consequently, more understanding of other people and culture. Sharing video, pictures, jokes and general comments gives each of us a small bit of insight into the lives of people and their cultures, to a degree, never achieved!
Social networking can help destroy negative stereotypes of people and places. By being allowed a view into the lives of others will make you see that, as different as we all look and speak, we are really quite the same. We can learn from others experiences, share in their victories and encourage them in disappointment ... and never physically meet them. Amazing!
I prefer social networks with diversity. If every one is just like you... as wonderful as you are... you will soon get bored and disengage. Be part of a social network that is global, active, and provides incentives to be involved. Become a citizen of the world, virtually!
